Church History

On Sunday, October 24, 1983 William Alexander Montgomery and Yvette Renee Long attended a service at the Tabernacle of Prayer for all People, Inc. in Jamaica, New York. There, they fell under the conviction of the uncut gospel that was being preached by the late Apostle Johnnie Washington.

They walked to the altar together, and on this eventful day, each of them made the decision to make Christ their personal Savior, and they became faithful members of the Tabernacle of Prayer for all People, Inc.

On December 31, 1983, this couple was united in holy matrimony by the late Apostle Johnnie Washington. They held a special place in Apostle Washington’s heart because upon hearing the preached Word of God, they responded immediately to it, and became doers of the Word. Pastor William Montgomery became a radio and audiotape engineer and a member of the Brotherhood Choir.

Pastor Bill and Pastor Yvette had such a burden for the lost, that they began to minister on the streets of New York where they worked diligently witnessing and soul winning from 1984 -1986.

They are both graduates of The Tabernacle of Prayer Bible Institute in Jamaica, New York.

In June of 1986, they joined the Sanford Tabernacle of Prayer, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida under the leadership of Pastor Carrie Buie Bryant.

In 1988, they began a street and prison ministry for the church through which many souls were brought to Christ. There, they grew and flourished in the word of God.

In 1993, Pastor William Montgomery was ordained an Elder in the Tabernacle of Prayer Ministry.

On August 29, 1997, Pastors William and Yvette Montgomery were commissioned to pastor in St. Augustine, Florida. So, with twenty members, they established the St. Augustine Tabernacle of Prayer, which is now Deliverance Time Ministry, Inc. Today, Deliverance Time Ministry, Inc. has grown not only in membership, but spiritually as well! Continue to pray for us as we endeavor to pursue the will of God for this ministry in these last days.
